PhD in the Arts: New compositional paths between Eliot Carter’s harmony and grammatology
This doctoral research by Raffaele Longo links composition to music theory from an innovative methodological point of view. The originality of this project is based on the definition of a new paradigm in music composition. The researcher will investigate in what way the harmony of Elliott Carter (1908–2012) —as expressed in his Harmony Book— can be the driving force to explore innovative compositional paths.
